Masirah hosts the world's largest nesting population of loggerhead sea turtles โ over 30,000 nests per season. Between June and October, you can witness this extraordinary natural phenomenon up close.

The upwelling currents off Masirah's eastern coast create some of the richest fishing grounds in the Indian Ocean. Yellowfin Tuna exceeding 50kg are a regular catch. Kingfish, Barracuda, and Cobia are abundant year-round.

Traditional local boats available on demand. Arrive in ~20 minutes โ faster than the NFC ferry. Passengers only, no vehicles. OMR 20 per boat regardless of group size (up to 5 persons).

The fastest way to reach the island. SalamAir operates direct flights from Muscat International Airport. Book in advance as seats fill quickly during peak season.

Muscat โ Shannah Port ยท ~5โ6 hours
Drive south from Muscat along Route 23 toward Sur, then take Route 35 to Al Ashkharah and continue to Shannah Port. Scenic coastal road passing Wadi Bani Khalid, Bidiyah Sands, and Sur. A 4WD is recommended if you plan to explore the island.

Departs from Burj Al Sahwa Bus Station in Muscat. Route 51 runs daily and connects directly to Shannah Ferry Terminal. Budget-friendly option for travellers without a car.
